Workers Compensation Law Update: The Appellate Division recently held that an employee injured while on a coffee break five miles away from his assignment is entitled to NJ Workers Compensation benefits. The employee was in an employer owned vehicle and had to drive that far from a rural off site location for coffee. The Court held that under the circumstances it was a minor deviation from his assigned duties and the injury was compensable.
